I help clients like you
communicate who they are and what they stand for so they can connect with their audiences on a deeper level and make a bigger impact on the world
I’m Kimi Mischke (Mish-key), Brave & Co’s owner/designer. I founded Brave & Co in 2016 after over a decade in design. I’m driven by both my passion for powerful visual storytelling and a desire to contribute positively to the world by working with non-profit organizations and mission-driven businesses
My career in design began 16 years ago at a brilliant little stationery company called iota. Four years later, I moved on and opened a design studio with two partners. For almost eight years, I worked on countless branding and rebranding projects for all sorts of clients, from construction firms to cafés, bike shops to non-profits. In 2016, I went solo and took my business online. And now, I'm using my knack for creating striking imagery, gorgeous color palettes and exceptional typography to help businesses and nonprofits impact their worlds positively.
values
-
HONESTY
The success of any design project requires clear and straightforward communication about the work, deadlines, and, of course, costs. I’ll provide you with estimates, timelines, and my terms up front. In return, I ask you to provide honest feedback and to be clear about your needs and goals. on goes here
-
COLLABORATION
While I’m an expert in design and visual problem solving, you bring vast experience and knowledge about your specific industry, business or organization to the table. You may even have some great design ideas, and I welcome that. Together, we can go much farther than we can alone!
-
KINDNESS
Compassion. Empathy. Respect. Without them we are lost. Yes, tell the truth, but do it with kindness. I respect your expertise and your needs and will do everything I can to meet them. I ask that you, in turn, respect mine.
-
COURAGE
To me, courage means owning my mistakes when I make them and telling the truth, even when it’s difficult. It means not being afraid to push my designs, to try new things, and to take chances. I ask you to also have an open mind and a willingness to be brave. Because that’s where the magic happens!
process
most importantly
I show up. I get things done. I am honest almost to a fault. I am not always perfectly primped and pretty. I've had a grey streak in my hair since I was in my twenties, and it's spreading rapidly. I’ve decided to own it instead of dying it. Living with joy, courage and kindness are hugely important to me. I love graphic design, almost as much as I love my family. Outside is my happy place, but reading a good book on the couch is nice, too. I am not a great cook, but I try my best. I care deeply about people and the planet. I'm a recovering perfectionist, and I believe that life is too short for any of us to spend it doing things that don't feed our souls.
